This is especially so when reading about something as complex as Organizational Change. The problem is that change is so complex that a step by step approach planned in advance, seldom goes as intended. It pays to warn others that when it comes to change, things seldom go as planned. And if you want evidence of how confusing and haphazard change can be, read the book "Maverick" by Ricardo Semler. (Warner Books 1993). Mr Semler, a company owner, recounts how he set off on the path to extreme change, had lots of setbacks, recovered and persevered, until he finally succeeded.
