TOUCHSTONE
NEWS:
On April 3rd 2009 Organization Systems International, our San Diego partner, is offering a workshop at their offices in California to certify participants in their Global Polaris Leadership Competency Model and 360 Survey. Designed for seasoned coaches, the model and 360 are cutting edge tools for use in international leadership development. Another workshop will be offered to the public in Washington, D.C. on July 7th. For additional information e-mail Crystal Matsuura at OSI cmatsuura@orgsysint.com
Healthy Scepticism: It’s Critical to be Critical
In our search for the quickest, easiest way to solve organizational problems, we are often tempted to take at face value the claims of vendors. In this regard, managers, particularly those in Human Resources, should learn to become sceptics and to be proud of it. Here are some reminders to help bring out the sceptic in you. (more)

AND USEFUL LINKS |
“Oldies but Goodies”: I think we all have in our bookcases one or two books that we’ve found to be far more than a good read. These are the books we pull out time and again, as our ultimate reference in a specific area. If you’re currently concerned about communicating with employees during times of change, one of my all-time favourites is “Communicating Change by TJ Larkin and Sandar Larkin, published by McGraw Hill in 1994.
Ashridge Business School: Are you considering upgrading your professional qualifications? Why not increase your options and look at more than local alternatives. Set in an 19th century estate in the heart of the English countryside, Ashridge is regularly ranked as one of the top global providers of executive education. Providing a blend of international business experience and academic rigour, it offers a range of customised and open programmes as well as MBA and other Masters qualifications. Uniquely, it also has its own consulting arm as well as several specialist research centres. Look at their website, and tell me you aren’t impressed!

The GrowthGoals Program: Many attempts to develop employees fail, not because of a lack of skill, but because few understand the complexity of the change process.
This unique one day workshop will greatly enhance participants’ knowledge of the personal change process and lead to more successful employee development. It can be offered as a stand-alone experience or linked with other initiatives such as leadership skills training, performance management, and 360 surveys.
