TOUCHSTONE NEWS:
This September we at Touchstone celebrate our 20th anniversary consulting to our clients in Canada and Internationally. We are looking forward to a busy and meaningful business year and have some fascinating business travel scheduled. In addition we plan to link a business to trip to the United Kingdom with an extension to Uganda to track the diverse wildlife in that country. In the meantime we look forward to working with our existing and new clients in the year ahead.

Employee Empowerment 101
Employee empowerment seems like such a great idea. And, when it works it is. Who better to work on projects designed to increase productivity than the people actually doing the jobs. As great a concept as it is, like most in which people are involved, implementation isn't as simple as it seems.

Case Study #1 Have You Got the Horses?
Note: Our case studies are presented as an opportunity to learn from the successes and setbacks experienced by other companies. We hope the reader will learn not only from the point of view of a manager considering similar initiatives, but also as an internal resource who may be supporting management as they introduce such initiatives. Since no company or individual is perfect, and we can learn a great deal from the missteps of others, we will openly discuss errors, mistakes, and false starts. For this reason our clients are not identified.

Improving performance is a topic that never falls from favour. If it is a particular interest of yours, check out The Performance Improvement Conference. It delves into the science of improving performance. Next year's conference (2012) will be held in Toronto from April 18-23.
